This page will be ever-changing and updating… Always adding new stories from past members and fans. Everyone is welcome to contribute! I have so many wonderful memories and experiences from performing all over in countless bars, clubs and concerts. I registered the domain name BonnieParkerBand.com in 2002 and created this website to share my experiences as one of the many musicians who played in the Bonnie Parker Band. Bonnie has always been the lead singer and bass player of the band. Although my brother David and I were part of the last Bonnie Parker Band and toured from NYC to Chicago for two years, it has been over 40 years since then. Yet, we still have many wonderful memories to share. I’ve heard that Bonnie is again assembling a new Bonnie Parker Band?! My band, The Flying Tigers, moved from Florida to Manhattan in the fall of 1976. At…

“My transformation from amateur to professional drummer occurred during the incredible year I experienced with the Bonnie Parker Band.” David J Castello My brother Michael and I were born in the Bronx, but relocated to Boynton Beach, Florida when we were two and three, respectively. We started playing in bands in high school and soon became aware of the exploding music scene in New York City. We relocated to Manhattan in November 1976 with our band The Flying Tigers and began playing clubs like CBGB and Max’s Kansas City. Our rehearsal and living quarters were in a loft on the 7th floor at 251 West 30th Street. Blondie rehearsed…

When I first started performing with BPB in the late winter of ’77 I remember we were playing weekends and occasionally we would head to Delaware to perform. Now being from Western NY, Rochester to be exact, my ears were not attuned to the Long Island accent, and Bonnie’s was quite pronounced! We had a roadie named Eric (can’t remember the last name). Now b4 soundcheck Bonnie in her heavy Long Island accent says “Eric, grab me the tuner”…now Eric lived in his car, or so it seemed because he had taken the back seat out and it was filled with his belongings….so Eric goes to his car and comes…

Hooking up with Bonnie Parker was a Revelation. It was a very magical time in my life. From Bonnie, I learned about song writing, how to work a crowd and professionalism. And from her other guitarist, Rudy Valentino, I learned how to play guitar. Bonnie was and forever will be Richie Scarlet’s Rock and Roll Mentor. – Richie Scarlet

I would like to say that aside for The Bonnie Parker Band being my first ‘Touring experience ‘; it was a thrill playing with such a talented singer/ bassist, as Bonnie Parker. Bonnie being filled with an amazing energy is the consummate professional that was way, way ahead of her time, in that there just were not any women Rock performers singing and playing bass! Bonnie brought the very best out in all of us as musicians, matched by her beauty inside and out. Thanks for showing me the ropes, Cheers xo Teddy Rondinelli

It was early to mid seventies when Bobby Jordan, manager of Dodds in East Orange NJ, told me the Bonnie Parker Band was looking for a guitar player. I had recently left Godspeed for personal reasons, but was itching to get back out on the road. I went out to Long Island for an audition and was hired. Bonnie was a true player, always laying it down and always with a vision on where she wanted to go. Though that period of my life was a bit dark, I do remember the great clubs we played, The Stone Balloon, Dunes ‘till Dawn, The Elegant Elephant and so many more. …
